The Texas Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (TAMFT) is a division of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), an international professional organization established in 1942. Together, TAMFT and AAMFT are dedicated to the promotion of the profession of marriage and family therapy. The professional members of TAMFT are committed to the advancement of the MFT practice based on principles to enhance individual and family well-being for all Texas families.

TAMFT IN ACTION - MFT friends and colleagues joined at the Texas Capitol during the Legislative Session to deliver a unified message to state legislators regarding marriage and family therapy and client welfare!
TAMFT was successful in passing a critical measure to allow Texas schools to employ licensed marriage and family therapists to deliver services in a school district.

TAMFT is accepting submissions for the 2011 Journal of the Texas Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. This year Texas students and associates have an exclusive opportunity to submit personal reflection pieces addressing primary areas of interest including: challenges to becoming licensed in Texas; MFT graduate school experience, obtaining clinical hours (relational hours in particular); securing MFT supervision post graduation and securing a job in the field.
